The Fika Concept —

Our cafe is based on the fika-concept. We want to recreate something from home that we believe fits perfectly in the Irish weather (oh the rain) and culture.

The idea is simple: you take a break and relax while having something comforting to drink and a little snack.

The Cafe —

A place to unwind

The Danish word “hygge” has made itself known around the world as describing a quality of cosiness or a feeling of peace and contentment. It can describe a place, a situation, a sensory experience or anything with these qualities.

We’re proud to say our tea shop has a lot of hygge qualities.

We have carefully chosen the interior design, the colors and the little details to convey a feeling of cosiness and friendly atmosphere.

Our areas have a selection of books and magazines about tea, as well as cozy pillows and other details to make your visit as comfy as possible.

Moreso please let us know if you have any special requirements such as sensory needs or other requests and we will do our best to help. We’re autism aware and working on getting our autism friendly certification.

Loose Leaf Tea —

Authenticity and Quality

Loose leaf tea is "the real thing" when it comes to tea. While tea- bags are practical, loose leaf tea has a wide range of benefits, plus it gives you the opportunity to brew your tea with a feeling of genuineness and your own personal touch.

Loose leaf tea is not only higher quality, but comes in a range of flavours and varieties which isn't found in the world of ready - bagged tea. You can also make your very own blends, whether it's adding dried flowers or leaves from your garden,or extra spices to your chai tea. Your imagination is the only limit.

Our Story

We are Niels and Veronica, nice to meet you :) Originally Scandinavian, we traveled the world a little bit and settled in Clonakilty, Ireland, in 2019.

The best ideas can build up slowly, or they can strike like a sudden, loud bang, clearly pointing in a certain direction. Either way, the way was clear: we would open Clonakilty’s first Tea Shop.

Ireland is the country of tea, so where are all the tea shops? This is why we opened Clonakilty Tea Shop. Our vision was to create a local hub of tea, where Irish tea culture could meet other tea cultures and create a vibrant tea haven.

Enjoy a Fika

|[fee-ka] Noun - Swedish

For a proper fika you absolutely need homemade treats, particularly cinnamon rolls and shortbread :) We bake all pastries ourselves out of family recipes using the best ingredients. Especially BUTTER. We love good Irish butter, nothing can replace that. Scandinavian pastries reach a whole different level of deliciousness with Irish butter, it’s a match made in heaven.

With fika comes a choice between tea or coffee (at least that is two of the choices- we also have juices). We are a tea shop but we love coffee too! We have dedicated a lot of time and effort into finding the best beans for the most fika-worthy coffee.

So come and enjoy a well deserved fika break!

Our Menu —

Delicious & exciting tea lattes, coffees and hot chocolates

Besides serving amazing regular tea and coffee, flat white, cappucinos and lattes, we also serve our homemade chai coffee lattes, chili mochas, and seasonal flavored coffee lattes. In the summer we serve unmissable iced lattes, with or without cream!

Our belgian hot chocolates are creamy, thick and come in many delicious flavors. In the summer we have the equivalent iced chocolates. Rich, scrumptious and just what could save a rainy day!

Our drinks menu is a magical place. You never know what kind of exciting creation will pop out and be your next favorite drink.

We craft all our tea lattes out of our loose leaf teas, always striving for a taste experience out of the ordinary. Spicy and comforting chai lattes, matcha lattes, Assam lattes, rooibos based creamy lattes, minty lattes, and much more. All our lattes are unique creations made to be a one of a kind experience.
